For years, Netflix offered three subscription levels: Basic, Standard, and Premium. In the meantime, the low-cost “Standard subscription with ads” has been introduced, and the basic subscription has been cancelled for new customers. We show you what you must pay monthly to access the extensive range of films and series.

Netflix costs in 2025: current prices at a glance
Unlike Amazon Prime Video, Netflix includes all series, films, and documentaries in the subscription. There is no additional option to buy or rent videos for individual viewing. Netflix adds new series and films to its catalog every month.

The three different subscription models do not differ in scope but only in the picture quality offered and the devices that can be used simultaneously. However, there is a small exception with the standard subscription with advertising, where a limited amount of content is unavailable for licensing reasons.

Price increases
Netflix raised its prices in April 2024 without much notice. The large Premium subscription costs 2 euros more and therefore 19.99 euros per month, while the Standard subscription was increased again by 1 euro to 13.99 euros per month. The basic subscription, which is only used by existing customers, has become 2 euros more expensive for the first time and will now cost 9.99 euros instead of 7.99 euros per month. Only the new standard subscription with advertising remains unchanged at 4.99 euros per month.

Further information on Netflix subscription costs (2025)
If you don’t like the different payment methods, you can also use Netflix via prepaid cards. The monthly costs are always deducted on the day of the month on which you take out the Netflix subscription.

Cancellation is possible at any time. The subscription can then be used until the end of the period you have already paid for—you can find more details here. You can upgrade or downgrade your subscription anytime using the “Change subscription” function.
