Two Major Religious Celebrations This Weekend (April 25–26, 2026)
Vienna’s Filipino Catholic community is preparing for a deeply meaningful and historic weekend as two major religious groups commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Canonical Coronation of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Manaoag—a devotion cherished by millions of Filipinos around the world.
The original coronation, granted by Pope Pius XI in 1926, marked a profound recognition of the enduring faith of the Filipino people. A century later, that same devotion continues to flourish far beyond the Philippines, including here in Austria.
Celebration 1: Feast of Our Lady of Manaoag
📅 Saturday, April 25, 2026
📍 Parish Church of the Heart of Jesus, Töllergasse 11, 1210 Vienna
⏰ Procession at 10:30 AM, followed by Holy Mass
The Our Lady of Manaoag Devotees in Vienna, in cooperation with the Through Mary to Jesus (TMTJ) Devotional Group and Foundation, will open the weekend with a festive celebration at the Herz Jesu parish in Floridsdorf.
The event begins with a solemn procession, a hallmark of Filipino Marian devotion, followed by the Eucharistic celebration honoring the Blessed Mother under her beloved title, Ina ng Manaoag.
Organizers say the celebration is both a tribute to a century of blessings and a renewal of faith for the Filipino community in Austria.
Celebration 2: Solemn Reenactment of the Canonical Coronation
📅 Sunday, April 26, 2026
📍 Salvator am Wienerfeld, Wienerfeldgasse 11, 1100 Vienna
⏰ Eucharistic Celebration at 11:30 AM
On Sunday, the Filipino Catholic Chaplaincy (FCC) and the Association of Pangasinenses in Austria will hold a Solemn Reenactment of the Canonical Coronation, bringing to life the historic moment when the image of Our Lady of Manaoag was crowned 100 years ago.
The reenactment will be followed by a Eucharistic celebration, uniting devotees from across Vienna and neighboring regions.
A Century of Devotion, A Community United
For many Filipinos in Austria—whether long-settled migrants, new arrivals, or second-generation families—Our Lady of Manaoag remains a powerful symbol of hope, protection, and maternal love. This weekend’s twin celebrations highlight not only a historic anniversary but also the enduring strength of faith that binds the Filipino diaspora together.
