16 new deaths reported related to Covid 19 infection. 219 intensive care beds occupied.
From Monday to Tuesday, 2,590 new Corona infections were registered in Austria. This is well above the seven-day average of 2,334.
There are also 16 new deaths related to Covid 19 infection to report, bringing the pandemic death toll in Austria to 11,196 so far. The number of active cases stands at 23,174.
There are currently 934 people in Austria’s hospitals in connection with covid illness, 20 more than the previous day. 219 patients are in an intensive care unit; there was no change here compared to the previous day.
From an occupancy of 300 intensive care beds, the 2-G rule applies in night catering and at events with 500 people or more without assigned seating.
Currently, Upper Austria is the most affected with a 7-day incidence of 254.7, followed by Salzburg with 233.6. There, three municipalities (Annaberg-Lungötz, Adnet and St. Koloman) were also subject to mandatory outbreak testing yesterday.
Vaccinations
5,918 vaccinations have been carried out on Sunday. In total, according to the E-vaccination passport data, 5,818,796 people (65.14% of the total population) have received at least one Corona vaccination, of which 5,526,004 people (61.86%) have full vaccination protection. Of these, 200,460 people have received a 3rd dose.
