From Thursday to Friday, 6,001 new infections were registered in Austria. This is slightly above the average of 5,345 infections over the past seven days. The 7-day incidence is currently 420.35. Currently, 70,369 people are actively infected.

In the past 24 hours, 274,676 PCR tests have been performed. This results in a positive rate of 2.18 percent.

In addition, six new deaths have been reported. Thus, the pandemic has claimed 18,228 lives so far.

Currently, 1,038 people are being treated in the hospital, by 39 less than on Thursday. Seventy-six people are treated in intensive care units, eight fewer than the previous day.

Vaccinations
On Thursday, 4,216 vaccinations were administered, of which 128 were first stings, 449 were second stings, and 3,639 were third stings. According to E-vaccination data, 6,824,044 people received at least one vaccination. Six million ninety-nine thousand two hundred thirty-six people, or 67.9 percent of Austrians, have valid vaccination protection, nearly 30,000 fewer than a week ago. More and more people are letting their vaccination certificates expire and not refreshing the vaccination protection required for the Green Passport.
