Today, the main committee of the Austrian Parliamentary extended the initial restrictions in force since November 3. This is necessary because according to the legal requirements, the initial restrictions can only be adopted for ten days at a time.
All other measures of the partial lockdown have already been decided for four weeks until the end of November. In addition to the governing parties ÖVP and Greens, the SPÖ will also vote for the extension.
Meanwhile, the Vienna City Councilor for Health Peter Hacker (SPÖ) will present “checkboxes”. These are containers in which one can use quick tests to check for suspected CoV infections, especially during the flu and cold season.
There will also be a lot going on at schools: ÖVP Education Minister Heinz Faßmann will present new test procedures at schools in Mödling. In Innsbruck and Innsbruck-Land, a pilot project on rapid antigen tests at schools will be launched.
