In view of the significant increase in the number of coronavirus infections, France is tightening the regulations for locals as well as for tourists as of today. A health passport will become compulsory in tourist attractions such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, as well as in amusement parks, concert halls, museums and cinemas with at least 50 visitors.
It provides information about a vaccination, a survived infection or a negative coronavirus test. It already applies in discotheques and at festivals.
Tourists or other travelers to France from abroad can prove that they have been fully vaccinated, for example, with the CoV certificate on their cell phones, which is valid throughout the EU. As a rule, a negative CoV test must be no more than 48 hours old and can also be in paper form. Violations can result in fines of up to 1,500 euros. Tens of thousands of people demonstrated against the new measures over the weekend. The government justifies them with the highly contagious delta variant.
