In Israel, starting Sunday, all people 60 and older can be vaccinated against the corona virus for the third time if their second vaccination was at least five months ago. From Sunday, vaccinations will also be allowed for children between the ages of five and eleven who are at particularly high risk of becoming seriously ill or dying if infected. Vaccinations have been open to children ages twelve and older since early June.
Despite an intensive vaccination campaign, the number of new infections is also on the rise again in Israel. That’s why the government had decided to go it alone on booster vaccinations with the Biontech/Pfizer drug. Despite the rising infection figures, however, vaccinated tourists will be allowed to enter Israel again as of Sunday.
