Within 24 hours, 303 new infections were recorded – the highest number since early April.
More than 300 new infections with the coronavirus have been recorded nationwide in the past 24 hours. This was announced by the Ministry of the Interior on Saturday morning. It is the highest daily growth rate since the beginning of April. The increase has once again surpassed that from Thursday to Friday, which Health Minister Rudolf Anschober had called worrying.
According to the Ministry of the Interior, exactly 303 new cases were registered, 131 of them in the federal capital alone. Also noteworthy are 51 new infections in Upper Austria, 37 in Tyrol and 33 in Carinthia.
So far there have been 23,179 positive test results for SARS-CoV-2 in Austria. 728 people have died as a result of the infection, 20,627 have recovered (as of Saturday, 9.30 a.m.). On Saturday, 104 persons tested positive were undergoing hospital treatment, 21 of them in intensive care units.
