The Viennese Gastro Voucher campaign cost the City of Vienna 39 million euros. It was intended to support the catering industry, which had been hit by the Corona pandemic.
Vienna – The Vienna Gastro Voucher is expiring. Whoever still wants to redeem the voucher in a Viennese restaurant or in the coffee house around the corner must do so until Wednesday. Because afterwards this is no longer possible.
Gastro Vouchers were sent to all Viennese households in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce starting in June. One-person household received 25 euros, multi-person households 50 euros. The vouchers could be used for food and beverages – except for alcoholic beverages – at all participating restaurants. The municipal council approved a budget of up to 39 million euros for the initiative.
