According to the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG), temperatures are expected to subdue at first, but from Wednesday onwards it will be warmer from day to day.
High air pressure already ensures a bright sunny start to the new working week in most parts of the country on Monday. A few harmless clouds adorn the sky at most in the far east. However, rain is not to be expected. In addition, there will be light to moderate, in the Vienna Basin, at the eastern edge of the Alps, and in the Foehnstrichen in the south, sometimes brisk winds from northerly directions. After seven to 14 degrees in the morning, we can expect temperatures between 18 and 30 degrees during the day, with the higher values in the west of Austria.
On Tuesday, the weather will be very sunny in all parts of the country. Often only thin clouds in higher layers adorn the sky. The wind comes from the northwest to east and blows moderately in the Föhn valleys south of the main Alpine ridge and partly still in the eastern lowlands. From nine to 15 degrees in the morning, with temperatures rising during the day to 24 to 31 degrees, warmest still in the west.
Sunny and warm weather will continue on Wednesday. During the day, a few spring clouds will appear, but they will remain mostly harmless, individual showers can not be completely ruled out, especially north of the Danube and in the mountainous areas in the south. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from east to south. Early temperatures of 13 to 18 degrees and daytime highs of 26 to 33 degrees are forecast.
Dry and sunny it goes through Thursday, mostly it even remains cloudless. Only in the south, thunderstorms can sometimes not be completely ruled out. The wind will be light. Twelve to 20 degrees at the beginning of the day will be followed by 27 to 34 degrees.
On Friday, sunshine will again predominate by far, even if a few spring clouds will appear during the day. Particularly in the west, local thunderstorms may form in the mountains. The wind will be light to moderate, in the mountains and in the lowlands in the east partly brisk from southerly directions. The ZAMG expects early temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees and highs of 28 to 34 degrees.
