While the federal government announces more and more opening steps, there is great uncertainty among the population regarding the mask obligation.
Since June 10, Austria breathes again – completely without a mask. However, not really completely: because the mask obligation was not lifted everywhere and certainly not for everyone. Guests of pubs and restaurants – insofar as they are outdoors – are allowed to remove their mouth/nose protection, but not the operators and employees.
Even those who go to the toilet, which in most cases is located within the four walls of a restaurant, must put on the FFP2 mask. After all, the guest is entering the interior of the restaurant, and the mask requirement still applies there – at least until July 1.
In the supermarket the mask obligation – as stressed several times by the Federal Government – remains. For the staff, however, the same rules apply here as for employees in the catering trade.
Indoor swimming pool, in the sauna or under the shower, no mouth nose protection must be carried. When changing in the dressing room, however, the mask must be unpacked again.
