According to Moderna, a U.S. vaccine manufacturer, the vaccine stimulates an immune response against the Delta variant of Corona.

Laboratory studies using blood from vaccinated individuals have also shown the effect in several other coronavirus variants, the company said Tuesday in Cambridge.

The research was based on blood samples from eight participants, taken one week after the second dose of vaccine. The results have not yet been reviewed by other scientists. A detectable immune response in a vaccinated person does not necessarily equate to actual protection against infection.
About two weeks ago, a study had already been published indicating that the Corona vaccine from German company Biontech and its U.S. partner Pfizer also protects against the delta variant. Previous studies and data collection had yielded similar results. Both manufacturers are also currently working on booster doses that will be even more targeted to the variants.
