Surprise on Wednesday for all Vienna annual ticket holders: their Öffi card is valid as a ticket in six cities this summer.
Take the 1er Bim along the Ring past the Opera House, City Hall or Parliament, the bus line 25 to the Salzburg Water Games in Hellbrunn, the streetcar lines to Linz’s Hauptplatz, the streetcar line 7 for an ice cream in Graz’s Herrengasse, in Innsbruck the line J to the Patscherkofel or the line 10 to Klagenfurt’s lido to jump comfortably into Lake Wörthersee without parking problems. All this is possible for two weeks with just one annual pass from the participating six cities.
The summer promotion is intended as a thank-you for all annual pass customers who have remained loyal to their public transportation system even in the difficult times of the Corona crisis. Between July 26 and August 8, the respective annual ticket becomes a valid ticket on all lines of the participating partner companies in Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg, Klagenfurt and Innsbruck.
“The Öffi-Städte-Pass is a great example of cross-city cooperation that both supports domestic city tourism and promotes climate protection. Right now, creative ideas like this are needed to revive tourism in our cities,” said a delighted Öffi City Councilor Peter Hanke.
“With the annual ticket, Öffi users not only travel cheaply and in a climate-friendly way, but also enjoy special promotions and offers time and again. Especially for city trips, the subway, streetcar and bus are ideal ways to explore the city and its sights in comfort. We are looking forward to many visitors to Vienna and wish our passengers wonderful days in the partner cities,” says Wiener Linien Managing Director Alexandra Reinagl.
➤ Graz: Graz Linien guided lines in zone 101. Tram & city bus lines within the tariff zone 101 of Verkehrsverbund Steiermark. Not valid on trains & Regio Buses.
➤ Linz: valid on all LINZ AG LINIEN vehicles within the Linz core zone.
➤ Salzburg: valid in zone S (= city zone Salzburg), all trolleybus lines as well as Albus Kraftfahrlinien and Salzburger Lokalbahn within the city zone.
➤ Innsbruck: City of Innsbruck on all IVB as well as VVT lines.
Klagenfurt: All KMG Klagenfurt Mobil GmbH lines in the city transport area.
