The increase in the number of infections in Austria is also reflected in the reproduction rate. This has risen again and is at 1.14, after 1.06 last Friday.
This is according to the weekly analysis published on Friday by AGES (Agency for Health and Food Safety) and TU Graz.
Daily rate of increase of new infections of 5.3 percent
The daily rate of increase in new infections also remains high, at 5.3 percent (as of August 11). Last week it had been 3.2 percent. According to AGES, the effective reproduction number in Burgenland, Carinthia and Styria is around 1. For Burgenland, however, the estimate of the effective reproduction number is subject to great uncertainty due to the low number of cases, the experts emphasized. In Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Salzburg, Tyrol, Vorarlberg and Vienna, it is above 1.
