Health City Councilor Peter Hacker (SPÖ) announced new Corona rules on Saturday.
It goes blow on blow! Only a day ago, the government around Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg (ÖVP) has decided tightening of the Corona measures, which affect particularly unvaccinated people. The original 3-step plan was extended for it by two further steps.
Just one day later, Peter Hacker (SPÖ), the city’s health councillor, took notice and announced new Corona regulations in the federal capital. According to Hacker, there will soon be new measures that will mainly affect the cultural sector, such as cinemas and small theaters.
According to Hacker, it will be possible to waive the mask requirement for smaller events or performances. For this, however, the 2G rule – i.e. vaccinated or recovered in the last six months – would then have to be established as an entry requirement.
The 2G rule is already in effect at events with 500 or more visitors, as well as in night catering, reports theAustrian Press Agency. The Vienna State Opera, for example, is affected by this. Here, for example, people do not have to wear a mask if they have been vaccinated against the corona virus or have recovered.
In smaller venues, such as cinemas, the 2.5G rule applies. This means that people who have been vaccinated, those who have recovered and those who have a negative PCR test are admitted. However, a mask is mandatory here. According to Hacker, these organizers will now have the option to switch to a 2G mode, it adds.
In addition, a 2Gplus rule can be displayed as a prerequisite. Means in plain language: vaccinated, recovered plus tested. For this then however no mask must be carried. Organizers can also stay with the current mode.
