Corona numbers remain at a highly stable level. Yesterday, Friday, 3,234 new infections were reported, and on Saturday, 2,572. Today, the number is even lower.
Authorities registered 1,950 positives and four deaths in the last 24 hours. On the same day the previous week, there were 3,335 new infections.
The new infections are distributed among the nine federal states as follows:
Burgenland: 92
Carinthia: 127
Lower Austria: 533
Upper Austria: 236
Salzburg: 123
Styria: 192
Tyrol: 99
Vorarlberg: 23
Vienna: 525
To date, there have been 4,233,430 positive test results in Austria. Today (May 22, 9:30 a.m.), 18,347 persons with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died, and 4,169,371 have recovered throughout Austria. Currently, 634 people infected with the coronavirus are receiving hospital care. Of these, 45 are being cared for in intensive care units.
Even if the key figures of the past days go in the right direction, experts warn against premature euphoria. On Monday, for example, in its weekly report, the State Crisis and Disaster Management (SKKM) located an end to the Corona decline throughout the country.
