In Austria, there is only a low covid risk. At least, that is what the Corona traffic light suggests. This is because all the federal states will be switched to green-yellow on Thursday, as will the country. Only Lower Austria, Styria, and Vorarlberg had ended up in this color mix in the previous week. Now the remaining federal states also improved.
Starting from risk number 25, one escaped the medium risk, and this mark is undercut meanwhile everywhere quite clearly. The best value has Styria with 11.8, and the worst is Salzburg with 21.3.
Also, regarding the raw number of cases, i.e., the actual number of infections detected without other parameters such as test frequency, a hurdle was cleared this week according to the document of the responsible commission available to the APA. Carinthia manages a value of less than 100. The highest value is again Vienna, but this is also related to the testing frequency in the federal capital. Mistelbach has the highest incidence among the districts, and Voitsberg has the lowest.
In Vienna, just under 32,000 tests were carried out per 100,000 inhabitants, and in the Tyrol, which brings up the rear, only over 2,200. However, the Burgenlanders were the most diligent in testing this week, with over 39,000 tests per 100,000. Vienna is nevertheless clearly in the lead with 70 percent in terms of asymptomatic cases at the time of testing. In Tyrol, the figure is eight percent. In plain language, this means that testing is essentially only carried out there if an infection is suspected.
