From Monday to Tuesday, 6,638 new infections were registered in Austria. The number is below the 7-day average of 7,175 infections. The 7-day incidence decreases slightly to 564.24.
This brings the number of active Corona cases down to 96,555. 74,115 new PCR tests were made in the past 24 hours. This results in a positive rate of 8.96 percent.
There are also 22 new deaths. This means that 19,140 people with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died so far across Austria.
Currently, 1,547 people infected with the Corona virus are receiving hospital care. Of these, 86 are being cared for in intensive care units.
Vaccination
Across Austria, 4,784 vaccinations were administered on Monday, of which 3,898 were booster vaccinations (4th, 5th, and each after the vaccination dose) and 62 were first-time vaccinations. Exactly 5,413,484 people, or 60 percent of Austrians, have been validly vaccinated as recommended by the National Immunization Panel (NIG).
A total of 331,057 people have received a booster vaccination to date.
