On Sunday, 3,073 new Corona infections were reported in Austria. The number of active cases decreased by about 27 percent in one week.
According to figures released by the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), 3,073 new Corona infections have been registered, while the seven-day average was 4,228 new cases on Sunday. The seven-day incidence was 327.8 cases per 100,000 population.
More than 21,000 Corona deaths since the pandemic began
Another death related to the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus has been recorded in the past 24 hours, with 34 deaths recorded in seven days. The Covid-19 pandemic has claimed 21,037 lives in Austria since the outbreak.
1,309 Corona patients in the hospital
As of Sunday morning, there are 1,309 infected people in the hospital, two fewer than the previous day. Within a week, there was a decrease of 673 here. Eighty-five people are being cared for in intensive care units. This number did not change since yesterday and decreased by 15 patients within a week.
The number of active Corona cases dropped sharply
The number of laboratory-confirmed active cases dropped to 46,610, a decrease of nearly 27 percent in one week. Saturday’s positive rate of 109,900 PCR tests was 5.4 percent, below last week’s average. Here, 5.9 percent of the tests performed yielded a positive result.
