On Sunday, 4,714 new Corona infections were reported by authorities in Austria. Nearly 1,200 covid patients are in hospital.
Especially the area districts Liesing, Floridsdorf, and Donaustadt, have gained new residents.
The Corona situation in Austria is gradually coming to a head again. As expected by experts in their latest assessment, higher cases are now being registered with increasing frequency every week. The 2,617 new infections meant a slight decrease, but Tuesday (4,669 new cases) and Wednesday (6,689 new infections) showed that the trend of the numbers is rising again. A trend that continued on Thursday (5,140 infections). Finally, on Friday, 3,892 new cases were registered, and on Saturday, 3,725.
According to “Heute” information, 4,714 new Corona infections were registered in the past 24 hours, but no recent deaths have occurred.
Currently, 1,041 Corona patients (-1 to the previous day) are being cared for in the normal wards of domestic hospitals. Fifty-seven individuals require additional intensive care. The current 7-day incidence is 360.9 per 100,000 population.
As reported by ORF concerning the latest AGES calculations from December 9, the current effective reproduction rate from November 25 to December 7 is 1.04. This means that once again, more Austrians become infected than recover simultaneously. At this value, 100 infected people statistically pass on their infection to 104 others.
