While bathing, many people like to watch a movie on their smartphone or tablet to relax. But how dangerous is it if the device falls into the water?
So dangerous is the smartphone in the bathtub
We all know about the risk of electric shock when a hairdryer comes into contact with water. But is this danger also present in smartphones? The answer is: yes because one aspect is crucial. The device alone can be used in the bathtub without risk because the battery’s voltage is very low.
High risk with electrical devices plugged into a cable
The only possibility is that the smartphone could break unless waterproof variants exist. However, it becomes dangerous when electrical devices are connected to a charging cable and thus to electricity. The current is conducted from the socket via the device into the water, should it fall into the water.
