Travel to Greece has become more accessible. This morning, Athens no longer requires a negative PCR or rapid test from vaccinated persons when entering the country. The authorities announced that a valid EU vaccination certificate issued in the respective country is again sufficient.
Greece had introduced the additional testing requirement for vaccinated entrants last December to curb the spread of CoV infections. Other EU states criticized this solo effort by Athens.
Unvaccinated travelers, however, still need a negative PCR test no older than 72 hours or a negative rapid antigen test no more than 24 hours old upon entry. This also applies to travelers whose vaccination certificate is no longer valid in their own country because they have not had the booster vaccination.
