Number of new corona infections again in double figures

After the highest number of new infections in weeks, 175, had been registered the day before, the numbers slipped back into the double-digit range on Saturday. In the past 24 hours, 82 new infections with SARS-CoV-2 were reported throughout Austria, according to the Ministry of the Interior (as of 9:30 a.m.). More than half of them, 42, affected Vienna. 21 cases were reported in Lower Austria, 17 in Upper Austria, eight in Styria, three each in Salzburg and Vorarlberg and two in Carinthia. On 1 January 2020, 8,901,064 people were living in Austria. This is an increase of 42,289 persons compared to the beginning of 2019, primarily due to immigration.
