There are also three new deaths linked to Covid-19 infection.
From Tuesday to Wednesday, there were 563 new Corona infections in Austria. The 24-hour figure is above last week’s average of 486 positive tests. Compared to the previous week (514 cases), new infections increased by 49 cases, with a total of 3,404 infections added within seven days. The 7-day incidence increased to 38.24.
In addition, there are three new deaths related to Covid 19 infection, bringing the pandemic death toll in Austria to 10,748 so far. The number of active cases rises to 5,902 with 432 new recoveries. That’s nearly 4,200 more than a month ago, and there has been a significant increase since then.
In the past 24 hours, 74,003 new PCR tests were performed, bringing the positive rate to 0.76 percent.
There are currently 142 patients in Austrian hospitals, ten more than the previous day. In the intensive care units, there are currently 33 patients, which is also three patients fewer than the previous day.
36,794 vaccinations have been carried out on Thursday. That brought the seven-day average for stings administered down further to 38,463, according to the Department of Health’s Immunization Dashboard. A month ago, the average was more than 80,000 vaccinations daily, more than double the number.
In total, 5,332,023 people in Austria have received at least a partial vaccination, or 59.7 percent of the population, according to E-vaccination data. 4,757,309, or 53.3 percent, have been fully immunized to date.
