During the first half of the day, it will rain on Monday, especially on the northern side of the Alps and in the north and east. South of the main ridge of the Alps, the sun will still shine frequently in the beginning. In the afternoon, the focus of the showers will increasingly shift to the south and southeast. Isolated thunderstorm cells are possible in the mountains. Sometimes briskly, the west to the northwest will pick up in the Danube region and northern Burgenland. The early morning temperatures will be between two and ten degrees Celsius, and the daily highs will be between eleven and 20 degrees Celsius.
Rainy weather
South of the main ridge of the Alps and in the far west, dense clouds will dominate from the beginning of Tuesday, bringing frequent rain showers already in the morning. North of the main ridge of the Alps and in the north and east, the clouds will become denser until noon. In the afternoon, the showers spread to all parts of the country. On the northern edge of the Alps, some heavy rain will fall. The snow line will generally be between 1,600 and 2,000 meters above sea level but will temporarily drop further in the night to Wednesday. The wind will be mostly light. Early temperatures will be three to nine degrees, daytime highs ten to 17 degrees, warmest in the east.
A low-pressure vortex brings rainy weather
A low-pressure vortex will pass over us on Wednesday, bringing rainy weather and often cloudy conditions, especially in the eastern parts of the country. The main precipitation field should slowly move away over southeastern Austria during the day. With the low-pressure zone, significantly colder air will flow into the eastern Alpine region, and the snow line will only be between 1,200 and 1,500 meters above sea level. Otherwise, only a few showers will pass through; it will remain dry entirely in the West. Here it will also be somewhat milder with more sunshine. During the day, there will be a general weakening of the weather. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from west to north. Early temperatures are expected tob e around four to ten degrees, with daily highs of ten to 18 degrees depending on the sun.
Weather stabilization predicted
From the west, air pressure will rise significantly on Thursday; weather stabilization will occur. With predominantly sunny and windless conditions, it will remain dry. More clouds are expected to pass through the eastern part of the country on the fringes of a departing low-pressure zone, and it will also be windy here with a northerly current. Early temperatures will reach one to seven degrees, daytime highs 15 to 22 degrees.
Spring clouds on Thursday
Foothills of a high-pressure zone will continue to reach Austria on Friday. It will be mostly sunny through the day, although some spring clouds will form again during the day, especially in the eastern half. However, it should not be enough for rain showers even in the mountains. Winds will remain mostly light, with the main wind direction varying northwest and northeast. Early temperatures will be one to nine degrees, with 14 to 23 degrees daytime highs. It will be warmest in Tyrol and Vorarlberg.
