The AK has conducted a price check for the winter tire change 2022. Customers are advised to compare prices and offers so that changing tires in 2022 does not become enormously expensive.
Winter tire changes are just around the corner. But the prices for a tire change could become very expensive in 2022. The AK emphasizes that a price check to save money is worthwhile.
The Vienna Chamber of Labor has closely examined the prices for changing winter tires and recommends that consumers take the time to do a price check. Because the price differences for changing, balancing & Co. of four car tires are enormous. The AK found the most significant differences of almost 716 percent for balancing. That shows a current AK sample price monitor at the end of August with 32 Kfz specialized workshops and an auto accessory business.
The AK price monitor shows: that changing, balancing, washing, and storing four tires (aluminum and steel rims) can vary in price. If everything is offered as a package price, there are also significant differences in cost.
Changing four wheels costs between 28.80 and 74 euros, depending on the company. That is a price difference of 156.9 percent. On average, wheel changing costs 40.73 euros.
Wheel balancing is offered between 22.66 and 184.85 euros, a price difference of almost 716 percent. On average, balancing costs are around 61 euros for steel rims and 64.51 euros for aluminum rims.
The washing of tires is included in the package price at some companies. Otherwise, it costs between six and 29 euros (average price: around 19 euros). Some companies do not offer this service at all.
Changing, balancing, washing, and storing four tires costs between 98 and 229.46 euros for steel rims in the package price. That is a price difference of about 134 percent. For alloy rims, this package costs between 98 and 236.62 euros (price difference: around 141 percent).

The AK analyzed the prices for changing, suspending, washing, and storing four car tires for one season. For steel and aluminum rims, prices were compared for two different tire dimensions (225/40 R18 and 235/55 R17).
