Six new deaths have been reported in connection with the coronavirus
The number of new infections in Austria remains at a high level. From Saturday to Sunday, 3,624 new Corona infections were registered in Austria. This is well above the average of 3,261 over the past seven days. It also represents an increase of over 60 per cent compared to the 2,242 cases reported last Sunday. The seven-day incidence is 256.42.
In addition, there are six new deaths related to Covid 19 infection to report, bringing the pandemic death toll in Austria to 11,251 so far. The number of active cases rises to 31,234.
In the past 24 hours, 118,412 PCR tests have been carried out, the positive rate is 3.06 per cent.
There are currently 1,035 people in hospital, one less than on Saturday. 219 people are being cared for in intensive care units. This number decreased by eight and has increased by two patients in one week.
Vaccinations
10,058 vaccinations were administered on Saturday. A total of 5,851,197 people have received at least a partial vaccination, according to the E-vaccination passport data: That is 65.5 per cent of the population. 5,561,441 people, or 62.3 per cent, are fully immunised.
The highest vaccination coverage rate (fully immunised) is in Burgenland with 69.7 percent. In Lower Austria, 65 percent of the population is vaccinated, in Styria 62.9 percent. After Vienna (61.4), Vorarlberg (61.2), Tyrol (60.5), Carinthia (58.8) and Salzburg (58.5), Upper Austria brings up the rear with a vaccination coverage rate of 57.2 per cent.
